The $1 Bet
My brother Josh and I have a bet, who can make a $1 online first. There are some T&Cs, it can't be through our direct professions and businesses. It's got to be something new, ideally a product (physical or virtual) that we can make ourselves and it's got to be sold to someone we don't know personally. Basically, someone on the internet has to find and buy the product. To be fair the rules are pretty loose but we will both know if it's the kinda sale we want it to be and if it's in the grey area then I guess we can vote on it and being just the two of us, the chance of a 50/50 deadlock vote is quite high then we can run to mom to be the swing vote. #GoodOldSiblingRiverly
This bet comes at a fantastic time. As anyone who knows when I'm drunk as a sailor and the conversation steers into the economy will be able to tell you, that I love the idea of the Creator economy. Which is basically built on the idea of making that first $1, something I'm yet to do (cue audience gasps!).
That all is going to change!
I've been wanting to make that first $1 online for a while now but like all roguishly handsome people, I'm prone to some laziness every now and then. This is why this bet is great.
Now for ideas... Maybe I've mentioned it in a blog post before but I kinda like the idea of creating an online clothing store. This could be fun. Find some cool clothing wholesalers around the country, like small-scale setups that make interesting clothes, and then set up a Shopify site, run some Instagram ads, and profit... Sounds simple. There might be a bunch of "business" that needs to happen between those steps but let's see where it goes
The other idea I've always liked is courses. I've been a barista by trade for years and I'm sure someone out there wants to know how to make some coffee or at least answer the dreaded question "What's the difference between a Flat White and a cappuccino".
The race is on!
